What makes you different than other travel consultants?
As a historian, I bring a unique layer of depth to every trip. Beyond just visiting beautiful places, I design itineraries that immerse you in the rich stories behind them. Most days include visits to historical sites or guided insights that connect you to the culture, events, and people who shaped the region.
And here’s the fun part: your itinerary lives in a slick app, and I’ve packed it with historical nuggets for every stop on your journey. It’s like having your own pocket-sized history nerd tagging along (but way less annoying and much more useful).

How far in advance should I start planning my trip?
I work with clients starting 12 months from their desired dates. For trips less than 3 months out, I’ll help with an additional fee!
Do you book flights or hotels?
I don’t book flights or hotels directly, but I’ll provide you with carefully vetted hotel options that fit your style and budget. We can also discuss which flights work best for your plans. You book what works best for you but I’ll provide many options and help along the way!
What kinds of experiences can you include in my itinerary?
Think private museum tours, food experiences like wine tastings or cooking classes, visits to ancient sites with historians or archaeologists, and even hidden gems most tourists miss. I love pairing big-name sights with off-the-beaten-path magic.
How will I receive my itinerary?
You’ll receive your personalized itinerary through an easy-to-use app. Everything will be organized in one place, including daily schedules, confirmations, maps, and important travel details, so you can access your trip anytime, anywhere, right from your phone.
Do you offer support while I’m on my trip?
While I don’t currently provide full-time travel support during your trip, I’m absolutely available for any major questions or urgent issues that come up. I’m also working on offering dedicated on-the-ground support as an optional add-on in the near future — stay tuned!
When is the best time to travel to Italy?
Summers can be very hot, so with that in mind, the best times to visit Italy are in the spring and autumn, when crowds are also at their low. Personally, I love traveling to Italy in May and September.
When is payment due?
After briefly discussing your travel goals and plans, and if we decide we’re a good fit for each other, I require a 50% down payment (non-refundable). After this is received, I’ll send you a detailed questionnaire and start the planning process! Final payment is due when your itinerary is complete.
What makes this different from just booking online myself?
Good question! While booking sites give you options, I give you expertise. Every itinerary is rooted in historical depth, cultural context, and personal touches. Think less TripAdvisor, more personalized historian, foodie, and finder of hidden gems beyond the guidebooks.
Hiring a travel consultant will save you countless hours of research and planning! I typically invest around 10 hours to craft the perfect itinerary. Having a well-thought-out plan ready for your arrival in Europe means you’ll experience so much more during your trip. Top restaurants and tours often book up quickly, so I’ll make sure you don’t miss out by reserving those must-do experiences in advance.
What isn’t included?
In the basic package, I don’t book anything, but will give you contact information for each restaurant, tour company, whatever it is! We’ll craft your daily itinerary until it’s perfect and then it’s up to you to make sure all the bookings are complete!
In the custom package, I won’t book airfare or hotels, but I’ll help you find the perfect flight and give you a few options for hotels (4 and 5 star). Once you narrow down the right hotel, I’ll help you with the booking process. I will, however, book tours, restaurant reservations, museum tickets, you name it!
